Seastack Privacy Policy

Effective Date: December 22, 2025

Our privacy policy is straightforward:

  • We don’t ask for personal information unless we really need it.

  • We don’t sell your personal information.

  • We prioritize the security of your data through encryption and best practices.

1. Website Visitors

Like most website operators, Seastack collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Our purpose in collecting this is to better understand how visitors use our website.

Seastack also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged-in users. Seastack only discloses these under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below.

2. Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

Certain visitors choose to interact with Seastack in ways that require us to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type depends on the nature of the interaction:

  • Account Creation: We ask for a username and email address.

  • Third-Party Authentication: If you choose to sign up via GitHub, Google, or other providers, we may store your username, email, and profile information provided by that service.

  • Refusal of Information: Visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities or features.

3. Aggregated Statistics

Seastack may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites. Seastack may display this information publicly or provide it to others (e.g., publishing a report on usage trends). However, Seastack does not disclose personally-identifying information as part of these statistics.

4. Protection of Your Data

  • Encryption: Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

  • Security: We maintain administrative and technical safeguards to protect the confidentiality of your data.

  • Access Control: We disclose potentially personally-identifying information only to employees, contractors, and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information to process it on Seastack’s behalf and (ii) have agreed not to disclose it to others.

5. Third-Party Tools

We use third-party tools such as Google Analytics and Mixpanel to help us improve our service. Some information-sharing (like IP address and browser info) is unavoidable with these providers. We recommend using privacy tools or adjusting your browser settings if you wish to limit this tracking.

6. Cookies

A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor’s computer. Seastack uses cookies to help us identify and track visitors, their usage of the website, and their access preferences. You can set your browser to refuse cookies, though certain features of Seastack may not function properly without them.

7. Communication

If you are a registered user and have supplied your email address, Seastack may occasionally send you emails to tell you about new features, solicit feedback, or keep you up to date. We aim to keep these emails to a minimum. If you send us a support request, we reserve the right to publish it (anonymized) to help us clarify or respond to your request or support other users.

8. Accuracy, Deletion, and Your Rights

  • Accuracy: We make reasonable efforts to keep your data up to date. You may contact us at any time to rectify incorrect information.

  • Deletion: You can delete your account and data directly in your 'Settings' or by emailing support@seastack.co. Upon account deletion, we will remove your personal information from our active databases.

  • Right to Information: You may request a summary of the personal data we store regarding you once per calendar year.

9. Privacy Policy Changes

Seastack may change its Privacy Policy from time to time at its sole discretion. We encourage visitors to frequently check this page. Your continued use of this site after any change constitutes your acceptance of the new policy.
